When La Venus approached me to create a brand for their new spa in Downtown West Palm Beach, I immediately recognized the significance of their vision. They wanted a logo inspired by one of their favorite paintings, "The Abduction of Psyche" by French artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau. This task presented a unique opportunity to blend classical art with contemporary design.

To bring the icon to life, I collaborated with artist and designer Blair Lucas. At the time, I hadn’t yet delved deeply into illustrative work, so Blair’s expertise was invaluable in crafting the main visual element of the logo. Since completing this project, I’ve refined my own logo and icon illustration skills through my work over the past three years as a logo designer for Raymond James.
The client and I both gravitated toward a palette of cobalt blue and metallic gold, which exuded elegance and sophistication. These colors became the cornerstone of the brand’s identity. For all printed materials, we ensured the gold was consistently metallic, complemented by the cobalt blue and crisp white for a clean, luxurious aesthetic.

The brand extended far beyond the logo, shaping the entire spa experience. I carried the design onto various materials, including business cards, shopping bags, brochures, and facial cream packaging. Each piece embodied the brand’s upscale and cohesive identity.
My involvement also extended to the interior design of the spa. I recommended incorporating the cobalt blue and white palette into the walls with a touch of gold throughout, creating a space that felt both clean and sophisticated—perfectly aligned with the brand’s ethos.
Seeing everything come together was incredibly rewarding, and the client was thrilled with the final result. The brand captured the high-end, luxurious spa experience La Venus sought to provide. This project remains a highlight of my career, showcasing the power of collaboration, attention to detail, and a clear vision in bringing a brand to life.
